The Jack Pine - is a native North American pine which occurs generally in pure stands on poor, sandy soil. The Jack pine is usually the first of the pines to spring up and occupy land following fire. They are hardy and thrive on soil too poor for white or red pine; very shade intolerant. They grow best on well drained loamy sands. The A+2's average 16 inches and range from 12 to 20 inches in length.
Jack Pine is a small to medium size tree of the northern forests of the United States and Canada, where it is an important source of pulpwood, lumber and round timber. It grows farther north than any other American Pine.
