The Scotch Pine - French Blue are valuable as Christmas trees, ornamentals, pulpwood and saw logs. They are very cold tolerant, but also survive in warm temperatures. They are also tolerant of a variety soil conditions and are drought tolerant. The A+2's average 10 inches and range from 8 to 12 inches in length.
Scotch pine was brought from Europe, but is now considered naturalized in much of the northern United States. With its adaptability to a variety of soils and conditions it is a widely planted tree to avert soil erosion. It is the most widely distributed pine in the world.
